EL SALVADOR METÁPAN PACAMARA
Cafénor is an organization committed to bringing sustainable growing practices and premiums to coffee farmers in the Metápan region of El Salvador. Alejandro Valiente and his team of agronomists and farm managers have helped find a collection of 65 farmers to join their project. This lot is comprised of the Pacamara variety from the farmers of Metápan.
Light bodied, great grapefruit notes, with papaya and guava accents. The Pacamara variety is known for its size (lovingly nicknamed Elephant Bean) as it is a hybrid variety developed in El Salvador in the 50s through experimentation with Pacas and Maragogype varieties.
This is the first year of us creating a Direct Trade relationship with Cafénor, however, our coffee buyer, Jesse Crouse, has worked with Mr. Valiente and his family for many years.
